Ann from Red Thread China

Below is a picture of items that are being sent to Olivia's orphanage in ZhiJiang Hunan China. There is a wonderful Chinese woman in Guangzhou by the name of Ann that will send items to your child's orphanage at any time of the year. Since most of the orphanages do not have heat and China has had their worst winter in decades we decided to contact Ann and have her send needed items to ZhiJiang SWI. Words cannot describe how it feels to be able to contribute in some way in helping where Olivia came from. It keeps us connected to her former world.

Ann will also be making a trip to ZhiJiang sometime in the Spring to get photos and information on Olivia's finding spot. Several of the families that have children from ZhiJiang have gotten together goals for Ann's trip and she will be there for about a week hopefully getting pictures of all the finding spots and pictures of ZhiJiang and we really hope she will be able to visit the orphanage as well. I am so excited about this trip. Since we were not able to visit the orphanage because it was about a 7 hour train ride we have no pictures of where she came from. I do have pictures of her in the orphanage before she came to us but I want to see what ZhiJiang looks like and really want to see where she was found.

Ann also has website business at http://store.redthreadchina.com/index.html. She sells shoes; dresses and so much more at very reasonable prices. I have purchased two dresses for Olivia and was very impressed how Ann kept in contact with me and how fast I received the package. So please check out her website. You won't be disappointed.

Happy Valentine's Day

This past Wednesday was Olivia's Father & Daughter Valentine's Day party at school. I volunteered so I got to go to the party as well. It was so cute seeing all the dad's and the kids together.
I know every parent thinks their child is the funniest and of course Peter and I think Olivia is the funniest child. At the Valentine's Day party Olivia was sitting next to one of the dad's and she turns to him with her hand sticking out and says, "Hello, I'm Olivia Miller. What is your name?" Peter and I just looked at each other. It was so funny. Where does she get these things from?

Happy Birthday Grandma!!

Yesterday Olivia and I packed up and went to my Mom's house because on Sunday we were driving to Louisiana to celebrate my Grandmother's (dad's mom) 94th Birthday. Unfortunately we had to leave daddy on his birthday because he couldn't make the trip because of church and meetings on Sunday. Sorry Daddy!! My brother's family made the trip as well and on Saturday night cousin Joel entertained Olivia most of the evening. Thanks Joel!! He is great with Olivia and pretty much does whatever she tells him to do. She loves her Jo-el.
On Sunday we met the rest of my Dad's side of family at a restaurant. I was looking forward to go because Olivia was meeting her two second cousins from Vietnam for the first time. My cousin Chanda and her husband adopted Anais (8) and Chloe (5) from Vietnam. Chanda and I are the only two girls on my dad's side of the family and neither one of us could have children biologically so we adopted our Asian beauties. The girls had a great time and my Grandmother just loved them being together.

Madeline's Birthday Party

Today we went to Madeline's birthday party. Her mother works for St. Luke's so Madeline is in Kindgom Kids with Olivia a few days a week. No matter what day I pick up Olivia whether it be straight from school or Kindgom Kids I will ask her who she played with and she will always say..."Lauren, Nora and Madeline." She has seen and played with those 3 girls more than anyone since we have been at St. Luke's.

Anyway, Madeline had her birthday party at a great park called, "Wilchester Park" and Olivia had a great time. It had a cowgirl theme so we dressed up Olivia in new hot pink boots and her cowboy hat. When we got to the park we pulled up behind a trailer with 2 ponies. Olivia was so excited. Ever since we went to the Mayan Ranch she talks about riding ponies and going on hay rides and she finally got to ride another pony.

Fun @ Pumpkin Park!!!!

We literally live around the corner from our neighborhood park and Olivia loves to go play. The other day we met up with our friend Zoe at the park and they played with a few other friends. Olivia was the littlest of all the girls and they were climbing up on the slide and sliding down. Olivia doesn't like to slide but she also doesn't like to be left behind. So my sweet brave girl climbed up with a little help from Mommy and started sliding. I was so proud of her.

Well today Mommy had to work so Olivia and Daddy walked to the park and Olivia showed her Daddy how she can slide.

Can I climb this pole?
I love to pickup sticks!!
Here I go!!!
I love to slide now!!
I love to swing!!

Playhouse Disney

Yesterday we went to the Toyota Center to see Playhouse Disney Live!! We met up with our friends the Saksons and Olivia and Zoe had a great time. When we first got there Olivia didn't see too interested in watching the show. She did perk up a bit when Pooh came out. We found the Sakson family and the minute Olivia saw Zoe she was a completely different child. She loves Zoe!! We we sat down to watch the rest of the show the girls danced and jumped and had a fun time. It is so cute to watch them together. The parents had a pretty good time too because we got to do the "Hotdog" dance. Those of you that have little kids that watches the Mickey Mouse club will understand the "Hotdog" dance.
