Happy Halloween!!!

Tonight was Olivia's first Halloween to go trick or treating. We were new in the neighborhood last year and weren't sure if a lot of people trick or treated. Well we found out they do... so we couldn't for this year. We invited our friends the Dickson's over and Olivia and Pharyn had a great time. Mommy had a great time. Our neighborhood really goes all out for Halloween. Alot of the houses were decorated with skeltons, graveyards, pumpkins, spiders and the list goes on. If there was a witch or anyting that looked scary on the porch Olivia would not go up there even if Peter or I went up there with her. The majority of the time her and Pharyn would run up to the door and "fight" over who got to try and ring the doorbell. Most of the time they were both too short. We were out for about an hour and then we came back to our house so we could give all of our candy away. Thankfully there were still alot of people out because I wanted to get rid my candy.

While we were sitting out front this black cat just walked up our driveway. It was really weird. I hope it isn't a bad omen.

Waiting for Pharyn to go trick or treating.

Pharyn finally made it.
Let's go trick or treating!

Trick or Treating @ Church

Today the children from Kingdom Kids got to dress up in their halloween costumes and go around the church office to trick or treat. I insisted that Peter take the camera to work so he could take pictures of all the kids. I can only say good things about the child care @ the church. Whether Olivia is in Day School or Kingdom Kids she gets wonderful care. She has learned so much in school and then in KK she is with the same 5 or 6 kids and the caregivers love them all. We are truly blessed to have this wonderful church family,

In Loving Memory

My grandmother passed away this morning. Even though I knew one day she would no longer be with us it came as a shock to me. She died of a heart attack and that was just something I never thought she would die from. She was always very healthy. The only thing wrong with her was that she had demetia. She thought she was around 50 years old and if you told her she was 93 she would not believe you. My grandfather passed away in December of 2006 but she didn't know because in her mind he was always with her. I think it is going to be a shock to her when she gets to heaven and sees my grandfather. I can hear her saying, "Dennis what are you doing here?"

Dewberry Farm

We went to Dewberry Farm this past weekend and had a good time. Dewberry Farm is in Brookshire and is about 50 minutes from where we live. I am the type of person that likes to be at an event or a place when it first opens for the day. It is usually not as busy or hot... so we got there when it opened @ 10:00. Olivia got to jump on some big "pillows", go down the slide, see a pig race, see some animals, chase after butterflies and go into a corn maze. We stayed around 3 hours. When we left we saw they were selling snowcones. I love snowcones. I remember growing up and riding my bike to get snowcones during the summer. Anyway this was the best one I have ever had because I got to put as much juice as I wanted on it. We got the ice at one place and then next to it was a little building with spigots all along the walls with the different flavors and you got to put the juice on your snowcone. It was great. I got my favorite.. banana and Olivia got strawberry. Daddy and Olivia were suppose to share but Olivia ended up eating it all.

Birthday Party & Earl of Sandwich

Olivia and "Hannah Montana"
Today we went to Olivia's friend Lauren's Hannah Montana birthday party and Lauren's very talented mother, Leah, played Hannah Montana. It was so much fun. She sang 4 of Hannah's songs and the kids had a blast dancing and running around.

Olivia and her "peeps" Nora and Pharyn from church.

After the birthday party we went to the Earl of Sandwich in Sugar Land for lunch. When we went to Epcot last month we went to eat at E of S that first day at Downtown Disney and it was awesome. We all got the Original and talked about how good it was all weekend. We get home and I look up E of S on the internet and found out there is one in Sugar Land about 12 miles from us. I was so excited. Well... we went today and was very disappointed. It didn't taste like the one's we had at Disney. The meat didn't taste as fresh and I hardly had any cheese on mine. I think the Earl of Sandwich would be very upset. So Saksons if you are reading this it wasn't worth the trip.

I've been tagged!

I have been tagged by Tamara @ http://www.quizicalfrog.blogspot.com/. She has the two cutest little girls from China.

I have to share 7 random or weird facts about myself.

1. I wish I could be on Dancing with the Stars. I love to dance and everytime I watch I keep hoping they will allow one non-star/celebrity to compete and it would be me.

2. I love Bon Jovi and actually pinched Jon Bon Jovi on his buttocks. When I around 19 yrs old Bon Jovi came to Beaumont for a concert and was to appear on a local radio station. My cousin, Jana and I sat outside the radio station for a couple of hours waiting for him to show up. I remembered he showed up in a black Trans Am (I am dating myself) and his hair was big and he had on a pair of cut offs and a beater shirt. He walked past me and when he was going into the station I pinched him.

3. My mother likes to think she handpicked my husband for me. Long story.

4. I am a preacher's wife. Never in my life would I have ever dreamed I would marry a preacher. But it's good!!

5. I am addicted to Wii Fit. It is so much fun. Some of my favorites are the hula hoop and the ski slalom. I didn't realize I was so competitive until everytime my husband would get a better score or time I felt the need to beat it. Who knew?!?

6. I never finished college but I would like to go back to school but right now the thought of doing homework gags me.

7. And the saddest thing of all is that I don't know 7 people with blogs so I won't be able to tag 7 but I really wanted to participate.

So here are the people...

My friend Sherri @ http://sakson.blogspot.com/. She has become a very good friend of mine and her daughter (from Gansu) is one of Olivia's favorite people.

Sunny @ http://sunnyinchina.blogspot.com/. She found me through blogs by Danielle because her daughter Jillian is also from ZhiJiang.

Sharon @ http://www.twomuttsdesigns.com/index.html. She used the same adoption agency as we did and lives in Katy. Her daughter Emma is a cutie.

New Phone & New Dress!

I bought a new cell phone this evening. My plan was up a few months ago and the face on my phone had broken when it fell out of my lap onto the pavement when I was getting out of the car at a gas station about 8 months. I kept telling myself I was going to get a new one but just didn't want the hassle of dealing with the sales person and the phone still worked. But since my husband came home this evening from a wedding rehearsal a little bit richer I decided it was time for a new phone. I really wanted the Samsung BlackJack II but my husband told me I didn't need a PDA phone because I wouldn't use all the features and I knew I wouldn't but by him saying that I wanted it even more. I kept going between the BlackJack and the Pantech Matrix. I like the Pantech because it had dual sliding keypads and I would be able to actually type out a text message without leaving half the letters out of the words because it takes tooooooo long to text on a numerical keypad... at least it is for me. But I was lusting over the BlackJack because it came in pink. I love pink phones but the practical side of me chose the Pantech. I really hate when practicality wins and being frivalous loses... but by the end of the night my phone came out a lot less than the BlackJack. I know I will enjoy this phone because it also came with BlueTooth and my car is BlueTooth capability so I will be able to finally talk on the phone hands free while I drive... not that I ever talk on the phone while driving. :-)
I also bought a new dress today. And they said the economy is bad right now. Anyway several months ago a dress came into the store and I really wanted it but it was wwwwaaaayyy out of my price range. I knew the only way I would be able to get it was if it went on sale like 75% off. Well it has been on the sales rack for a couple of weeks and I kept eyeballing when I walked by it. This morning I didn't see it and I was a little upset but it was a size too small so I really didn't think it would fit. Anyway I was waiting for someone to give me something so I just walked around the corner to the sales rack and there was the dress. I knew it was fate (yeah right) so I went and tried on the one size too small dress and it FIT!!! So I bought it. It was actually 50% off but I get an additional 10% off on sales and when the manager rung it up she gave me another 10% off. I came out way ahead because I got the dress for much less than the wholesale cost. All in all it has been a good day for Brooke.
