Discovery Green

Several weeks ago we went to the new downtown "green" parked called Discovery Green with the Saksons. It was very nice. There are a couple of restaurants, playground, water park, ponds and several open fields.
After we ate Zoe and Olivia decided to take off across one of the fields. Olivia went very far and I got a little panicked. Anybody could of just snapped her up. We kept calling her but she didn't hear. Peter caught up with her and told her never to run that far from us.
Two silly girls!!
Back from her running adventure.

Birthday Parties and Potty Training

Birthday Girl!!

Brianna's Birthday Party

Opening presents

Olivia is finally potty training. Last week when we were out of town she asked for her panties. I told her I didn't bring them but when we got home in a couple of days she could wear them. She then told me she wanted to start potty training. Well when we got home on Wednesday afternoon I put them on. She had two accidents that day and each time I would ask if she wanted a diaper or to put her panties back on and she would tell me panties. When we had tried to potty train before she would always say diaper so I thought we are progressing. One the accidents was very funny because she starts yelling, " Mommy there is peepee coming out of me." The next day I picked her up in the same outfit and panties that she was dropped off in. She hasn't had an accident since last Wednesay. We are so proud of her. My mom told when once she made up her mind she would do it and not have many accidents.

Brianna's birthday party was this past Saturday (May 31st) and Peter, Olivia and me went to it. It was a lot of fun. There was a small pool and a water sprinkler. Olivia would jump up and down and then fall down with her face in the water. It didn't even faze her.

Well, later that day was Olivia's Birthday Party!! Her actual birthday is not until June 10 but we decided to have it a little early. We had it at the place she takes gymnastics. The party was a lot of fun and very chaotic. There were 15 kids under the age of 5 running around; jumping on trampolines; playing in the pit and balancing on the balance beams. It really came off without a hitch. It is a great place to have it because all I had to do was supply the food; paper products and party favors and the staff did the rest.

Since presents are not opened at parties anymore Olivia opened them up yesterday afternoon. I wanted to open them up earlier in the day but she crashed about 11:30 and when she woke up I went to see "Sex and the City" with a friend and Peter took Olivia to the zoo with my friend's husband and daughter. Those of you who know me know that I am a huge "Sex and the City" fan. I wanted to go first thing on Friday morning but I had to work. I would have taken the day off from work or gone in later but I had taken a day off earlier in the week. I must say I was not disappointed in the movie at all. I will probably go see it again by myself next Monday or Wednesday since I am off on those days.

Busy Busy Busy!!

One of the ladies (Carmen) that takes care of Olivia in Kingdom Kids decided to throw a princess party for all of her girls. Carmen probably worked about 6 week planning this party. Everytime I would pick up Olivia she would be cutting out princess decorations. Well needless to say the party of was hit with the girls. Carmen did a wonderful job decorating the room and making it look like a princess castle. We love Ms Carmen and she loves her girls. She told us she did it because she loves her girls and wanted to do something special her them. All I have to say is Ms Carmen rocks!!

The Saturday after my birthday we went to Tiki Island which is about a mile or two north of Galveston to go to Emma's birthday party. Emma's mom and day used Los Nino's as well for their adoption. We got to see Brianna too. Tiki Island is great. The day of the party was an overcast day but there was a breeze and it just felt good. The girls had a lot of fun together. Olivia kept calling Brianna, "My friend Brianna." It was so cute to see how well they got along with each other.

Emma, Olivia and Brianna

One my birthday we went to Moody Gardens. I wanted to go to some place fun as a family. We saw the IMAX movie and went through the Rainforest and Aquarium. Olivia loved the Aquarium. She was so funny. We were at a very large tank with a lot of fish and she pointed out Dory, Mr. Ray and Bruce the Shark to us. It was hilarious because she was so serious about it. We also saw Nemo and Ming Ming from the "Wonder Pets." She absolutely loves animals. She is always asking when are we going to the zoo again.

On Mother's Day we celebrated at Saltgrass. Mom and Dad had spent the night with us on Saturday and then went to church with Olivia and me. Later that afternoon, we met Rodney and his family at Saltgrass. It was a great time.

A couple of weeks ago we went to Sydney's (a friend from church) birthday party at Stude Park. It was a lot of fun. Olivia got a taste of how mean little boys can be. She was waiting in line to hit the pinata when Peter and I saw her starting to break in line. So we walk over there to tell her not to do it when a boy around 6 or 7 years old pushed her down. I wanted to push or rather knock the little boy down but I restrained myself. I didn't want to make a scene because I didn't know many of the people there. Olivia cried but I think it was more her feelings being hurt and not being hurt. One of the little boys there did tell me that she shouldn't break in line and I told him that boys should not push little girls down. The little boy that did push her wouldn't even look at me. Mama bear came out that day.

Please pray for the Chapman Family!

Yesterday Maria Sue Chapman, adopted daughter from China of Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife, was killed. This was a tragedy that no one can really understand. Please pray for them during this time.

Mr.Ray

A couple of months ago, while taking a bath Olivia started talking about Mr. Ray. I had no idea what or who she meant. At first I thought is was some perverted man. Well soon after, I realized she was talking about her washcloth. I thought it was funny that she named her washcloth Mr. Ray. Well the light went off in my head when Olivia and I watched "Nemo" and I realized that Nemo's teacher's name is Mr. Ray. The majority of her washclothes are blue and they kind of look like a stingray. So anytime she is in the bathtub she wants to play with "Mr. Ray."
This morning I was giving her a bath and she asked for Mr. Ray so she could wipe her face. I think this is one of her funniest things she has ever said. It is amazing what goes on her in head and how she comes up with these things. She definitely keeps Peter and I entertained.

P.F. Changs

Zoe and Olivia

We went to P.F. Changs to celebrate our 2nd anniversary of "Gotcha Day". Our good friend Sherri and her daughter Zoe met us there. Will (Sherri's husband) couldn't make it because he is driving in from Dallas tonight. We had a great time and the food was awesome.

I can't believe we have had our baby for 2 years. Time has gone by so fast.
